A Heist of Dimensions
This adventure is written and structured as a heist on both a mechanical and thematic level. It started as an adventure I ran for a group of friends over a weekend and was adapted to be compatible with Starfinder Second Edition. I wrote, did the layout, stat blocks and the art for the adventure.
The adventure introduces a flashback mechanic inspired by Blades in The Dark. Players can trigger flashbacks a set amount of times during the adventure and the scene structure is written to flow like a heist movie. Everything starts with a flashback to the planning of the heist. The players are introduced to the overall goal and the first challenge. They can then plan what they want to do and we rejoin them in the present where they execute this plan. Then we flash back and reveal the next challenge.
This structure is used to avoid hours of play being spent on planning a heist that will change the moment the players start executing it. They get the information they need when they need it, reducing overwhelm at the same time as it creates a feeling of being in a heist movie.
The adventure was released on DriveThruRPG.
