Links from the summer

Just before the summer I quit my job in a PR firm where I've worked in the film department for around six years. It's been time for a change for a while, but it's taken some time to work up the money and the courage to give games writing a go.1

I've had a few weeks of holiday and now I'm getting into a mix of study and ttrpg-writing. My first proper project will be a system agnostic setting guide. I'll share more about that in future posts as I get into the writing.

This week me and my girlfriend are going to run a multi-table D&D session at a local festival. So we've spent the last few weeks working on adventures and designs for that. I've printed my adventures for the first time and made tiny zines from them. We're going to have them up for sale at the festival.

On the blog I've written about my gaming groups first encounter in our new Draw Steel campaign where the specter of 5e made an ambush quite deadly. You can read it here.

Games I've played: I went in blind2 to The Incident at Galley House and loved it! It is an investigative narrative game where you explore scenes to find clues to take you to the next scenes. You should play it blind.

Things I've read:

That is all for this one.

  1. I am fortunate enough to fall in Jake Birketts category b.

  2. Encouraged by multiple folks on bluesky.
